2x2 fet problem |
Lead | |
|
I did a 2x2 stack on my evo and now im not getting anything to happen when i turn it on. Im guessin that something must not be soldered right, but it looks
fine to me. Is there an easier way to find where the short is or whats the problem...could they be bad fets?

You're pretty close to 100% likelyhood that something's wrong with the soldering job. If you're 100% sure that they're the same type of FETs
and 100% sure that they're oriented the same way, then you've likely either bridged a connection or cold-soldered something.
If you have a magnifying glass, take a really close look between each pin and make sure none are bridged. Sometimes, it's as simple as a tiny thread of solder in close to the chips that might be really hard to see without magnification. If that fails, re-flux and re-run a soldering iron over each pin, making sure they melt well and the bond to the board is solid. |

Thanks man, Im gonna try that. I gotta learn how to use my multimeter better, is there a tut or an easy method to check so i dont do this again. I might just
have to get a new board and try over again. I should have just bought a V2, but all my gen 1s I stacked on my own and it worked fine.
