i've got an xmod gen1 with: stage 2 motor, wheel+tyres upgrade, 850mah batterys and a heat sink. i was wondering what are the best other upgrades i can get
(no soldering) to increase speed/acceleration for under £20.00?

you could try getting a faster motor or putting neodyium magnets in your stage 2 motor

bearings if you dont have em thats the best bang for the buck. then yea the neo magnets would be next

wide track bearings go on the "out side" (near the wheels) and they just reduce wheel wobblw and beef out your wheels, and ill try and find a tut on
neyodium magnets i saw one a while ago

will i need stacked FETs if i put the neo's in a stage two? hope not...

nope not at all, all you will need is the knowlege to take the moter part and then put it back together with new mags

if you can swing the extra $ get ceramic bearings. they are totally worth the extra money. i dont know about wide track ones but the RS ones i have are too
skinny so wider ones would be sweet. if you cant get the ceramic ones get shielded ones for sure they make sure dirt and stuff cant get into the bearing as
easily. the neo magnet istall is not very complicated either the main thing to remember is to keep the magnets in the right direction.

any info on a tut for the neo's. will it need soldering?

no soldering just have to bend up the little tabs that hold the endbell on then open it up remove old mags put in new ones in the right direction and ur done.

i've tried to open it just to see if i could and i used a flat-tip screwdriver. it couldnt pick the edge out. What should i be using?

thats what i used a small flat head screwdriver. just push down into the plastic end to get under the metal tab and pry. its kinda a fine art

how do you pull the pinion off?

i just cmpletely fudged my test subject. an old stock motor that i tried to get the magnets out of, ruined. i have no more to spare. if i need a pinion puller
for this then i will just have to find another motor.. at least if i find one i can use the thingy that connects the motor to the car to connect a new motor.
I'll have to ask someone to solder it for me lol...

ok fair enough. If youre in the uk theres a guy called mk2kompressor you can contact he will do work like that

i went to the site and they dont do it anymore. Can u suggest a motor that i can use that is faster than a stage 2, available to buy in the uk and that fits in
a medium length gen 1 chasis, requires no fet upgrade and either has solder points or a clip thingy (dont know the name of that thingy that conects the motor
to the car). Any info you can find will be greatly appreciated.
